Corporate Procurement Consultant – Construction

About the role

The Corporate Procurement Consultant will join the Corporate Procurement Group at the IDB Group headquarters in Washington, D.C. This international staff position supports the Budget and Administrative Services Department by delivering procurement and contracting services for construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects across the Bank’s departments and country offices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes for works and related services, including RFP design, evaluation, negotiation and contract administration.
• Advise internal clients on procurement strategies, timelines, risk assessments, non‑price criteria and contract terms.
• Coordinate vendor selection activities such as product demonstrations, proof‑of‑concept tests and due‑diligence workshops.
• Review and refine Terms of Reference, Statements of Work and technical specifications.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement procedures to enhance responsiveness and service continuity.
• Conduct market research on construction and infrastructure trends, supplier capabilities and pricing.
• Assist in collecting and quality‑controlling procurement data for reporting and client advisory purposes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, Law, Project Management or a related field.
• Solid experience in construction, real‑estate or infrastructure procurement.
• Ability to work autonomously while delivering high‑quality outputs on schedule.
• Strong client‑orientation and communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders.
