Controller – Senior Accounting Leader (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

MAVIMAVI is seeking an experienced Controller to own the accounting function of a high‑growth US company while working remotely from LATAM. This senior accounting seat is responsible for the integrity of financial statements, the close process, control environment, and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual close, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements under US GAAP and present them to leadership, auditors and the board.
• Lead final review of journal entries, reconciliations and fixed assets.
• Research and document technical accounting positions (revenue recognition, leases, equity, accruals, capitalization).
• Manage multi‑entity consolidation, intercompany accounting and foreign currency translation.
• Establish accounting policies, internal controls, approval workflows and maintain related documentation.
• Lead annual audit end‑to‑end, including auditor management and resolution of findings.
• Coordinate US tax compliance with external CPA firms.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting and expense processing.
• Provide FP&A reporting, KPIs and variance analysis to department leaders.

Required profile

• 8‑10+ years progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong command of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Experience with multi‑entity accounting, consolidation and intercompany eliminations.
• Proven track record designing accounting processes and controls from the ground up.
• Experience leading audits and managing external auditors.
• Comfort operating remotely with US‑based leadership and auditors.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
