Construction Deputy HSE Manager

About the role

Met T&S, the global employment company of MAIRE Group, is recruiting a Construction Deputy HSE Manager for industrial projects in Argentina and South America. The Deputy HSE Manager supports the HSE Manager in implementing and monitoring the MAIRE Group HSE policy and management system at site, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, conducting inspections and audits, investigating accidents and keeping records. The role reports operationally to the Site Construction Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Support and monitor the implementation of the MAIRE Group HSE policy and management system at site.
• Perform the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and take part in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Verify the adequacy and application of the Site HSE Plan and related procedures, updating HSE documentation when needed.
• Check that subcontractors comply with HSE procedures, regulations and standards, and promote corrective action where necessary.
• Organize and take part in periodic HSE walkarounds, inspections and audits, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Organize and coordinate HSE training and HSE meetings on site.
• Cooperate with the client on the issuance of work permits.
• Lead investigations of work accidents and keep accident records, identifying areas for prevention.
• Promote training and indoctrination of personnel.
• Lead the Site HSE Committee (Contractor and Subcontractor HSE representatives) and the emergency response and fire prevention teams, including drills.
• Prepare the HSE section of the monthly progress report, site HSE statistics and performance reports against targets, and propose recovery plans when needed.

Required profile

• Fluent Spanish (mandatory) and English.
• Experience managing large industrial, EPC, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical or infrastructure construction sites.
• Understanding of local South American construction environments, contractors and regulations.
• Comfortable working in multicultural, international project teams and supporting projects across Argentina and the region when required.
