Backend Engineer – API & Integrations

About the role

Join Sokuvo, a cutting‑edge software delivery platform built for the AI era, to own and evolve its API layer and enterprise integrations. As a Backend Engineer you will ensure fast, reliable services that seamlessly connect with clients' existing stacks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise REST APIs, including versioning and latency budgets.
• Develop and maintain third‑party integrations with GitHub, Jira, Slack, Confluence, Cursor and Google Drive.
• Build and support backend services powering Sokuvo’s delivery stations.
• Optimise database performance across PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis.
• Collaborate with the principal engineer on infrastructure components.
• Perform minor frontend tasks when needed, leveraging full‑stack knowledge.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in API design, service architecture and database performance.
• Extensive experience with Python; React knowledge is a plus.
• Proven ability to integrate complex enterprise tool stacks.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL (query optimisation, indexing, schema design) and exposure to MongoDB and Redis.
• Experience with latency‑sensitive systems and a startup mindset.
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps best practices and scalable, observable backend solutions.
