Associate & Counsel – Consumer Banking Legal

About the role

Join the Consumer Banking Legal Practice Group within JPMorgan Chase's Consumer and Community Banking Legal division. Based in Buenos Aires, you will provide strategic and practical legal advice to support the consumer deposit business, focusing on branch banking and fiduciary account administration.

Key responsibilities

• Advise branch professionals and operational teams on fiduciary account matters such as trust accounts, powers of attorney, and decedent/estate issues.
• Develop expertise in Consumer Branch Banking products, including safe deposit boxes, notary services, medallion signature guarantees, and related fiduciary services.
• Identify and escalate legal issues, collaborating with business partners, risk, compliance, and controls teams to devise practical solutions.
• Participate in new initiatives by attending meetings, providing timely legal guidance, and drafting customer‑facing communications.
• Maintain and update internal policies and procedures relevant to supported business activities.
• Conduct legal research on applicable state and federal consumer finance laws and regulations.
• Support litigation matters by liaising with business units and contributing background information.

Required profile

• Law degree with membership in a jurisdictional bar and compliance with licensing requirements for Argentina.
• Minimum of 2 years of legal practice experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and issue‑spotting abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
