Associate Counsel – Case Oversight & Administration

About the role

Join the Case Oversight & Administration Team (COAT) at J.P. Morgan, supporting one of the world’s largest in‑house litigation departments. The Associate Counsel will assess new litigation matters, manage case data, and collaborate with legal and business stakeholders across multiple global locations.

Key responsibilities

• Research systems to identify customers, accounts and firm units involved in litigation.
• Set up new cases in the matter‑management system, drafting concise summaries and categorising allegations.
• Assess operational risk and prepare Code of Conduct escalation forms.
• Produce and distribute reports on case‑management data accuracy and completeness.
• Review and close matters in the system, ensuring all fields comply with policies.
• Identify high‑risk matters and trends, escalating them to management in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Licensed attorney with at least 3 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation or the financial industry.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, research and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously with high attention to detail.
