Associate Attorney – Litigation & Human Rights (Remote, Argentina)

About the role

We are seeking a bilingual Argentine attorney to join Justice4Mariners, a U.S. plaintiff‑side maritime law firm. The associate will work remotely, preferably from Buenos Aires, and will assist the founding attorney on U.S. litigation and cross‑border investigations involving seafarers’ rights, human trafficking, sexual assault and whistleblower matters.

Key responsibilities

• Assist U.S. federal and state litigation by drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, deposition summaries and case chronologies under supervision of a U.S.-licensed attorney.
• Research and write legal articles, case analyses and explainers for the firm’s website.
• Support international arbitrations, mediations and cross‑border disputes, including jurisdiction and choice‑of‑law analysis.
• Communicate with clients, co‑counsel, experts and opposing counsel worldwide, handling intake and keeping clients informed.
• Prepare and manage FOIA requests, analyze agency responses and conduct legal research in English.
• Maintain case workflows, deadlines and document management for a growing docket.

Required profile

• Licensed attorney in Argentina with 2–5 years of litigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to draft real pleadings and manage deadlines within a litigation team.
• Exceptional written English; precise, clean and persuasive.
• Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Comfortable navigating civil law and U.S. law intersections in maritime contexts.
• Motivated by public‑interest and accountability work.
