Air Freight Import Specialist

About the role

As an Air Freight Import Specialist you will be a key player in the international supply chain, handling order processing, shipment registration and the coordination of freight and customs activities. You will work closely with customers, agents and internal teams to ensure smooth import operations and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Process orders and register shipments in the system.
• Organise freight and customs handling, including import control.
• Prepare and monitor commercial offers and ensure accurate customer billing.
• Handle special orders, complaints and provide advisory support to customers and agents.
• Prepare delivery bills, customs documentation and monitor appointment deadlines.
• Maintain performance statistics and use them for accounting and reporting.
• Document, optimise and file workflows, supporting supervisors on various projects.
• Perform general administrative tasks related to freight forwarding.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in air freight forwarding within an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures and air transport regulations.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and pay close attention to detail.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with freight forwarding software (CargoWise is a plus).
• Advanced use of the MS Office Suite.
