Accountant IV – Lead Accounting & MMARS Liaison

About the role

The Accountant IV will serve as the lead accountant for the Massachusetts Management Accounting and Reporting System (MMARS/MOSIAC) and act as the primary liaison for the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance. Working 37.5 hours per week on the Haverhill campus, this full‑time position supports the Comptroller’s Office, finance team, and college‑wide stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile state funds exceeding $50 million annually.
• Serve as liaison for MMARS/MOSIAC, handling year‑end and monthly appropriations reconciliations.
• Prepare bi‑weekly MMARS appropriation and expenditure reports for the Comptroller.
• Track and issue payments for DCAMM projects and support procurement and budgeting directors.
• Administer the college‑wide PCARD program, including fraud mitigation, user training, and transaction reconciliation.
• Maintain payroll projections, year‑end payroll holds, and DynaCash close processes.
• Coordinate with internal departments, state agencies, external vendors, and auditors to resolve complex accounting issues.

Required profile

• Experience acting as a lead accountant or primary liaison for state financial systems.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale fund reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of college finance operations, capital asset management, and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with state departments, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
