Site Activation Manager

About the role

The Site Activation Manager leads the strategic, operational and financial delivery of site activation activities for clinical studies, ensuring rapid site start‑up to support patient enrollment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning and project oversight to accelerate site activation across multiple regions.
• Support pre‑award and bid‑defense activities and oversee start‑up execution from pre‑award through site activation.
• Develop, implement and maintain the Site Activation Management Plan in line with the scope of work and project strategy.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, communicating project status and resolving issues.
• Execute operational strategy for maintaining clinical study approvals, authorizations and contract negotiations.
• Assess regulatory landscape, produce regulatory intelligence and define submission strategies.
• Produce regular updates and reports for study teams and senior management.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of internal systems, databases, tracking tools and project documentation.
• Mentor and coach junior colleagues, including Grade 140 staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing site activation for clinical trials across multiple regions or globally.
• Strong understanding of ICH‑GCP, regulatory requirements and contract negotiation processes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute project plans, manage timelines and resolve complex issues.
• Experience mentoring and coaching team members.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
