Senior Staff Accountant

About the role

The Senior Staff Accountant will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of The Sociable Society’s financial records. Working remotely, you will partner with Finance, Operations, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable teams to support month‑end and year‑end close processes in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, review transaction coding, and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance‑sheet accounts, including bank, credit‑card, merchant processor, and sub‑ledger accounts.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, deferred revenue balances, and expense allocations.
• Support commission, bonus, and payroll‑related accounting entries.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with accounting policies.

Required profile

• Highly detail‑oriented with strong accounting fundamentals.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Ability to collaborate across Finance, Operations, AR, and AP teams.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify unusual trends or variances.
