Senior R Programmer & Shiny Developer

About the role

Premier Research is seeking a senior‑level R programmer with deep Shiny expertise to join its Biostatistics team. The role supports biotech, medtech and specialty‑pharma clients by delivering interactive applications that streamline clinical trial data review and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain interactive R Shiny applications for clinical trial activities, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Create user‑friendly tools for statistical review, data exploration, quality control and reporting.
• Build reusable Shiny modules and frameworks to promote consistency across projects.
• Optimize application performance, scalability and usability for large‑scale data sets.
• Develop utilities in R, SAS and Python to support ADaM, TLF and other deliverables.
• Implement GxP‑compliant development practices and conduct unit, integration and regression testing.
• Provide technical consultation on R programming, Shiny development and open‑source technologies.
• Support study teams with programming activities and application validation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of programming experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO industry.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with R, RStudio and Shiny in clinical data analysis.
• Proven ability to scale Shiny applications to hundreds of users and integrate with cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake).
• Experience validating applications against FDA, EMA and GxP regulatory standards.
• Active participation in the open‑source community, including R package development.
