Senior Clinical Research Associate

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Associate to advance its pipeline by ensuring high‑quality site clinical research. The role partners with study teams, investigators and site staff to drive data integrity, compliance and overall study performance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary sponsor point of contact for investigative sites.
• Provide contextual information on clinical trials, connect stakeholders and strengthen AbbVie’s positioning.
• Motivate, align and mentor the monitoring community, including junior personnel.
• Train and support site staff and principal investigators on trial goals, protocol and patient treatment principles.
• Conduct site evaluation, training, routine on‑site and off‑site monitoring, and site closure activities in compliance with protocol, GCP, ICH and AbbVie SOPs.
• Customize site‑engagement strategies, gather local insights and track progress.
• Translate study protocol and scientific principles into day‑to‑day execution activities.
• Develop and implement effective recruitment and retention plans based on patient disease journey.
• Maintain solid knowledge of therapeutic area, asset and clinical landscape to support patient recruitment.

Required profile

• Advanced competency in clinical trial site management and monitoring.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and motivate cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of site engagement and ability to adapt strategies as needed.
• Experience generating recruitment and retention techniques aligned with patient journeys.
• Deep knowledge of the therapeutic area, asset and clinical landscape.

Required skills

• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) knowledge.
• Familiarity with ICH Guidelines.
• Understanding of AbbVie Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.
• Site evaluation, training and monitoring expertise.
• Recruitment and retention planning skills.
