Product, Privacy and Regulatory Counsel

About the role

Dialpad is seeking a Product, Privacy and Regulatory Counsel to shape the legal strategy where product innovation, data privacy, and regulatory compliance intersect. You will work closely with product, engineering, security, marketing, sales and customer success teams to embed legal judgment into the design, launch and scaling of AI‑powered products worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Product and Engineering on privacy‑by‑design, AI governance and regulatory risk throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop legal frameworks for AI training data, large‑language‑model usage, model governance and compliance with the EU AI Act, U.S. state AI laws and FTC guidance.
• Support Dialpad’s global privacy program, including GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
• Help create playbooks, guardrails and internal policies that position Dialpad as a trustworthy, enterprise‑ready AI platform.
• Collaborate with the Assistant General Counsel, outside counsel and cross‑functional partners to address high‑visibility legal matters.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree with admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction.
• Significant experience advising technology companies on privacy, data protection and emerging AI regulations.
• Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable product guidance.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with senior executives and engineering teams.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA and other data‑privacy frameworks.
• Experience with AI governance, model risk management and compliance with the EU AI Act and U.S. AI statutes.
• Ability to draft and implement privacy‑by‑design policies, data‑subject access request processes and regulatory playbooks.
