Staff Software Engineer (AI-Native / ClaudeCode)

About the role

Darwoft, a Latin American technology company, is recruiting a Senior / Staff Software Engineer for a fully remote position anywhere in LATAM. The client is building a modern SaaS platform for organizations managing complex M&A processes, combining document workflows, collaboration, approvals, diligence, transaction management and AI-powered capabilities. The engineering team uses an AI-native approach with tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and other AI coding agents, so this is not an AI/ML or Data Science role but a production software engineering role.

Key responsibilities

• Navigate, understand and evolve a large existing production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural and system design decisions as the product scales.
• Identify technical debt, architectural risks, reliability issues and improvement opportunities.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot or similar AI coding agents throughout the development lifecycle to explore codebases, design implementations, generate and refactor code, debug, write tests and accelerate delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, integrations, data models and application workflows.
• Strengthen automated testing, maintainability, observability, reliability and production readiness.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, automation and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, data and infrastructure layers.
• Work closely with product leadership to turn business problems into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Highly experienced Senior / Staff Software Engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Builder first: highly technical, pragmatic, product-oriented, low-ego and comfortable owning complex systems.
• Ability to balance development speed with software quality and long-term maintainability.
• English level B2 / C1.
