Software Alliances Director, Americas

About the role

The Software Alliances Director will lead the development of joint product roadmaps, go‑to‑market plans and technical enablement with major software partners across the Americas. This remote position requires a blend of business development, product management and technical expertise to drive Ubuntu adoption and create differentiated open‑source solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute account strategies for major partners, regions and verticals.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, alliance and marketing teams to align on open‑source strategies and capture partner requirements.
• Produce partner‑facing materials such as reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, presentations and white papers.
• Drive Ubuntu adoption within alliance accounts and provide enablement training for partner development, delivery, support and commercial teams.
• Travel up to 25% of the time, including international trips for conferences and partnership meetings.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in business development, product management or related roles, with a proven track record in major accounts.
• Strong communication skills, able to influence stakeholders from individual contributors to the C‑suite.
• Self‑motivated and disciplined for a remote‑first work environment.
• Academic background in science, technology or engineering (Bachelor’s degree required).

Required skills

• Customer‑facing experience in software engineering, product management, business development or technology strategy.
