Senior Legal Counsel – Control Functions Legal

About the role

Join the Control Functions Legal (CFL) team as a Senior Legal Counsel and help shape the legal and regulatory landscape for Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) across a wide range of products and services. You will be the go‑to expert for monitoring, analyzing, and advising on law and regulation changes that affect the business.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting CCB and related business lines.
• Draft concise summaries of new developments and their implications for legal and business stakeholders.
• Partner with legal and control functions across CCB on regulatory change management and compliance matters.
• Design, implement, and improve legal change‑management processes, leveraging emerging technologies.
• Develop and refine AI prompts and other inputs to support legal research, issue spotting, and workflow automation.
• Respond to regulator, audit, and compliance inquiries and support special research projects as needed.

Required profile

• J.D. or equivalent legal education and admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• At least three years of experience in consumer banking, financial‑services regulation, or related litigation.
• Strong legal analysis, research, and issue‑spotting abilities.
• Knowledge of U.S. state legislative and regulatory processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Successful completion of a conflicts‑of‑interest clearance before start.
