Senior Bookkeeper - Accounting, Compliance & Reporting

About the role

EY's Global Delivery Services (Finance Operations, within the Tax Service Line) is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper in Buenos Aires. The role acts as the first level of review and coordination for day-to-day finance operations for a US client, covering transaction processing, accounting, monthly reporting, statutory compliance and tax activities. It also involves coordinating transitions and system migrations and serving as a key contact for clients and global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate daily accounting activities of the GDS Buenos Aires team, reporting to the Manager.
• Lead bookkeeping for clients, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger.
• Oversee Senior and Staff members' work on journal entries, monthly flash reports, financial result summaries, CFO deep dive inputs and close management.
• Perform bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and resolve complex accounting issues; prepare and review monthly tax account reconciliations.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closes and analyse financial information and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare KPI and management reports, support variance analysis and monitor KPIs, SLAs and other client metrics.
• Coach junior team members, lead transitions and ERP migration projects, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
• Work with GDS India and the ACR US onshore team and coordinate with foreign offices and global teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience, including controllership in a shared services environment.
• Experience leading or supporting F&A transitions with accountability for timelines and costs.
• Experience in captive or outsourced shared services, and in ERP or technology implementation projects.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across time zones and cultures.
