Real Estate Development Lawyer (Remote)

About the role

Utopia is seeking an experienced Real Estate Development Lawyer to join its legal team on a fully remote basis. The role will provide comprehensive legal support for the company’s luxury hospitality and property development projects, covering the entire lifecycle from acquisition to disposition.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on land acquisition, due diligence, entitlement, permitting and related regulatory matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate purchase agreements, development agreements, leases, construction contracts and loan documents.
• Structure and oversee financing, joint‑venture and leasing arrangements.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks throughout development projects.
• Conduct legal research on real‑estate statutes, regulations and case law.
• Liaise with internal teams (development, finance, construction) and external parties such as government agencies, lenders and investors.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and legislative changes affecting real‑estate development.

Required profile

• Law degree from a reputable university and admission to the bar in the country of residence.
• 5+ years of experience in real‑estate law, focusing on development and transactions; experience in construction or dispute matters is a plus.
• Prior in‑house experience with luxury real‑estate developers preferred.
• Dual qualification in a common‑law jurisdiction is highly encouraged.
