Manager, People Analytics

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Manager, People Analytics to lead a multidisciplinary squad that builds People Products from raw workforce data. The role reports to the Global Head of Workplace Engineering and sits within the Data discipline of the People department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of People Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and UX Designers, acting as a product squad leader.
• Bridge HR and engineering language, ensuring technical solutions reflect human behavioral intent.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive insights, such as attrition risk models, and translate them into real‑time AI agents for managers.
• Maintain a secure, GDPR‑compliant People Data Stack that serves as a single source of truth.
• Identify high‑tech solutions to free up high‑touch human interaction, enhancing overall effectiveness at work.

Required profile

• Strong background in data science, mathematics, or engineering with advanced statistics and data wrangling skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, mentor colleagues, and drive road‑map execution.
• Excellent business translation skills, turning complex data models into compelling narratives.
• Willingness to challenge the status quo and build open‑source AI/Data stacks.
• Exceptional academic record and fluent business‑level English.
