Lead Legal Counsel, Argentina

About the role

As Lead Legal Counsel for Argentina, you will be the primary legal advisor for Takeda, providing proactive, business‑oriented legal support and representing Legal in cross‑functional decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice across commercial and non‑commercial activities, balancing legal requirements with business objectives.
• Research, analyze and interpret Argentine laws, regulations and industry standards, and advise stakeholders on necessary actions.
• Draft, negotiate, review and approve a wide range of agreements, including distribution, licensing, procurement and patient access contracts.
• Support corporate governance matters such as licenses, permits, powers of attorney and corporate records.
• Manage litigation, arbitration, mediation and other dispute‑resolution processes, including pre‑litigation risk assessments.
• Represent Takeda before regulatory authorities, industry associations and other external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognized institution with strong academic credentials.
• At least six years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in corporate, commercial or healthcare law within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Qualified lawyer in good standing with the Argentine bar.
• Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic, complex environment and to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
• Strong commercial understanding, high ethical standards and excellent stakeholder relationship skills.
