Field Service Engineer (Auto)

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer specialized in automation to install, commission, and support Sidel equipment at customer sites in Argentina. You will act as the technical bridge between our technology and the end‑user, ensuring smooth start‑up and long‑term reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, start‑up, commissioning and testing of Sidel automation equipment on‑site.
• Provide technical assistance during warranty and post‑warranty periods, including training and after‑sales services.
• Test and evaluate equipment performance against technical, contractual and safety specifications.
• Operate automation systems, HMI, and electrical plant for routine activities and troubleshooting following SOPs.
• Document non‑conformities, submit time and technical reports, and report after‑sales opportunities.
• Coach junior colleagues on on‑site behaviour, technical tasks and reporting.

Required profile

• Degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on field service experience with installation, assembly and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Deep knowledge of filling machines, blow moulders or high‑speed packaging lines; experience with Sidel portfolio is a plus.
• High mobility – able to travel internationally up to 90 % of the time.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting complex mechanical drawings and assembly layouts.
• Expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics and precision mechanical components (bearings, gearboxes, drive systems).
• Machine leveling, timing and alignment.
• Hygienic design principles and microbiological safety standards for the beverage industry.
• Automation systems, HMI operation and electrical plant troubleshooting.
