Associate Director Communications

About the role

Syneos Health is seeking a strategic, collaborative communicator to lead internal communications initiatives that boost employee engagement and align with the company’s business priorities. This senior role will shape messaging, content, and channel strategy across a global, matrixed organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute internal communications strategies and integrated campaigns supporting enterprise initiatives, culture, and employee engagement.
• Create compelling, audience‑appropriate content for intranet, Teams, email, video, live events and other channels, applying segmentation and best‑practice distribution.
• Establish measurement plans, dashboards and use analytics to continuously optimize content, cadence and channel performance.
• Partner with Global Corporate Communications & Marketing, manage editorial governance, intake and prioritisation of communications requests.
• Guide senior leaders on messaging, timing and channel selection for change initiatives and enterprise programs.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of communications experience, preferably in healthcare or scientific environments.
• Strategic thinker with strong storytelling ability and the capacity to work cross‑functionally in a highly matrixed global organisation.
• Proactive, independent, able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and influence stakeholders.

Required skills

• Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.
• Digital fluency across internal channels such as Microsoft Teams, intranet platforms, video production and digital employee experience tools.
• Project management, prioritisation and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Analytics and data‑led communications skills, including measurement planning and dashboard creation.
• Experience with responsible generative AI use, video/audio editing and coordinating external production partners.
• Event planning and execution for town‑halls and large‑scale meetings.
