Remote WordPress Developer (Latin America)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to join our talent network and work remotely with U.S. clients on project‑based assignments. You will become an integral part of the client’s engineering team, collaborating daily with designers and engineers to deliver high‑quality WordPress solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins according to client specifications.
• Integrate and optimise WordPress search engines and plugins such as Relevanssi, SearchWP, ElasticPress or Algolia.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver features on schedule.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex usability and search‑related issues.
• Evaluate technical trade‑offs and recommend custom development or third‑party solutions.
• Maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines for WordPress applications.
• Contribute to shared libraries and codebases, ensuring high code quality and documentation.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on web development.
• Advanced English proficiency and a completed four‑year college degree.
• Deep experience in custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
• Strong hands‑on skills with PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS/SCSS.
• Proven experience with WordPress search plugins (Relevanssi, SearchWP, ElasticPress, Algolia).
• Solid understanding of UX design, site architecture and content navigation.
• Ability to work independently, take extreme ownership and thrive in remote, fast‑paced environments.
