Nurse 2 - Day Surgery

About the role

The Registered Nurse (Nurse 2) in Day Surgery provides professional nursing care for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. Working under the general supervision of the Health Services Manager, the RN delivers independent nursing services, administers prescribed treatments, and leads the care team to ensure safe and coordinated patient discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for complex and unpredictable patient needs in the day‑surgery setting.
• Administer medications and prescribed medical treatments safely and accurately.
• Coordinate patient flow, collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, and allied health professionals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and support staff.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
• Minimum one year of orthopedic surgical nursing experience (required).
• Endoscopy and day‑surgery experience preferred.
• Current relevant clinical nursing experience is an asset.
