Investments Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager – Global Securities Controls and Accounting strengthens financial controls, accounting accuracy, and process efficiency across MetLife’s investment portfolios. This position blends finance, accounting, and technology, offering exposure to complex investment structures and direct interaction with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the review, enhancement, and execution of finance and accounting processes for fixed‑income and equity securities.
• Maintain subject‑matter expertise in accounting standards (US GAAP, STAT, IFRS, Solvency) and their application to investment products.
• Oversee financial reporting controls, quarterly close processes, and trending analysis to ensure accurate, timely results.
• Manage cross‑functional collaboration with investment, finance, and accounting teams to resolve complex issues.
• Develop and drive automation initiatives using existing technologies to improve efficiency and data quality.
• Coordinate financial analysis and reporting, including reconciliation and variance analysis.
• Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
• Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and resolving accounting issues.

Required profile

• Solid experience in corporate finance or accounting within public, private, or insurance companies, applying US GAAP and STAT to investment accounting.
• Strong command of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) for financial analysis and reporting.
• Proven ability to manage people and projects, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, including prioritization, ownership, and delivery of results.
