Freelance Front-End Web Developer

About the role

WPP Production is seeking a Freelance Front‑End Web Developer to build and adapt responsive web pages based on visual briefs. You will work on localising pages for multiple languages, ensuring clean, accessible markup that meets client coding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new digital assets as directed by supervisors.
• Modify existing code for localisation, including image paths, SSI, file names and directories.
• Produce and update assets in several languages while meeting tight deadlines.
• Maintain client digital assets using the latest web standards.
• Ensure code is accessible, SEO‑friendly and adheres to W3C guidelines.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and highly organised.
• Enthusiastic about emerging web technologies.
• Strong oral, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with flexibility and tolerance.

Required skills

• HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery.
• Version control systems: SVN, GIT.
• Build tools: Grunt, Gulp.
• Responsive development experience.
• Front‑End frameworks: Bootstrap, Foundation.
• Image manipulation: Photoshop, Fireworks.
• Accessible and SEO‑based coding, usability understanding.
• Progressive enhancement, graceful degradation.
• Bash shell scripting.
• Mobile optimisation and email newsletter build challenges.
