Family Physician – Shared Practice Opportunity

About the role

We are seeking a Family Physician to join a collaborative, shared‑practice primary care clinic in Nelson, British Columbia. The position offers a blended rural family medicine scope with flexible scheduling, part‑time or full‑time options, and the chance to participate in functional‑medicine clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide longitudinal primary care to a shared patient panel.
• Participate in shared inpatient coverage at Kootenay Lake Hospital on a rotating Doctor‑of‑the‑Day schedule.
• Maintain approximately 2–3 clinic days per week with the option for a virtual‑care day.
• Collaborate with a fellow physician on cross‑coverage, vacation planning, and leadership initiatives.
• Optional involvement in a functional‑medicine clinic up to twice weekly.

Required profile

• Physician interested in a team‑based, shared‑practice environment.
• Flexibility to work part‑time (≈0.5 FTE) or full‑time (≈0.8 FTE) and adapt schedule as needed.
• Willingness to engage in inpatient duties and rotating hospital coverage.
• Interest in optional focused practice areas such as functional medicine.
