Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

The Senior DevOps Engineer will join Disney's Content Platform Engineering team to build, support, and enhance platforms, workflows, and products that power Disney’s media supply chain. The role focuses on platform availability, scalability, and reliability for iconic brands such as Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, and more.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write, test, and deploy high‑quality code for reliable, maintainable software solutions.
• Monitor and optimize production systems to ensure platform stability, performance, and uptime.
• Collaborate with product engineers, platform engineers, and content operations teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Provide on‑call support via PagerDuty, handling incident response and disaster recovery.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in SRE/DevOps roles operating distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Strong Linux systems administration and incident/change management experience.
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams.

Required skills

• Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
• CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Programming languages: Go, Python.
• Infrastructure as code: CloudFormation, Terraform.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, switches, routers, load balancers.
• Experience with distributed messaging (Kafka, Kinesis) and storage solutions (object storage, SQL/NoSQL databases).
• Familiarity with advanced backend technologies (gRPC, GraphQL, reactive frameworks) is a plus.
