Plant Manager

About the role

The Plant Manager will lead a dehydration and baling plant operating in a highly variable agricultural environment. Reporting to Farm Management, the role ensures stable, efficient, and reliable operations that meet production, quality, and cost targets. It is a hands‑on position that requires strong ownership and the ability to work effectively in a rural, high‑demand setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute production plans based on raw material availability and business targets.
• Maintain consistent throughput, remove bottlenecks, and deliver volumes in line with plan.
• Own plant performance against budget, control cost per ton, and implement corrective actions.
• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) across availability, performance, and quality.
• Lead and develop plant teams, build capability across supervisors and operators, and manage performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and promote a zero‑incident culture.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, plan structured downtime, and maximise equipment reliability.
• Coordinate with farming teams on harvesting cycles and align plant operations with logistics and export requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial operations.
• At least 5 years in a plant leadership or equivalent role.
• Background in agri‑food, industrial processing, or related sectors.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale production, cost control, and asset reliability.
• Strong execution discipline and capability to operate in a rural, high‑demand environment.
