Staff Engineer - Backend & Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to drive the evolution of our backend technology, infrastructure, and AI capabilities. You will work closely with the CTO and engineering team to design scalable, high‑performance systems that power our mobile‑first business software.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve the core backend and platform architecture for all applications.
• Mentor and support engineering team members.
• Lead complex technical initiatives across backend services, data infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Define and implement scalable foundations that enable faster shipping and reliable operations.
• Build scalable, reliable services and improve infrastructure, observability, and deployment workflows.
• Work directly with cloud services such as AWS, Supabase, and Cloudflare.
• Make high‑impact technical decisions and help the team scale operationally.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in backend development with languages like Kotlin, Java, Go, Python, or similar.
• Proven experience building and operating scalable backend systems in production.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, reliability, and performance optimization.
• Experience integrating AI models or AI‑powered workflows is a strong plus.
• Extensive experience designing scalable architectures and making high‑impact technical decisions.
• Ability to design systems that remain reliable, observable, and maintainable as the company grows.
• Experience designing and improving developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, or internal engineering tooling.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and production environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic or Datadog.
