Staff Accountant – Remote

About the role

You will act as the controller’s right‑hand, keeping the books accurate and up‑to‑date for a fast‑growing US home‑services company. The position covers the full accounting workload, from accounts receivable to month‑end close, and offers a path toward a future controller role.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end accounts receivable: verify invoices, capture memberships/maintenance agreements, and follow up overdue balances.
• Assist with month‑end close, including posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card and general‑ledger accounts.
• Support payroll processing and ensure accurate payroll records.
• Prepare financial reports and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Collaborate with the controller on process improvements as the business scales.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on accounting experience covering accounts receivable and general accounting.
• Proven ability to close months, post journal entries and reconcile accounts with limited supervision.
• Comfortable contacting US customers about payments and handling billing conversations professionally.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable and able to catch errors early.
• English proficiency at C2 level, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and CRM systems.
• Familiarity with ServiceTitan (preferred).
• QuickBooks knowledge (preferred).

What we offer

• Compensation: $1,500‑$2,000 USD per month.
• Full‑time remote schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑4 PM ET (40 hours/week).
• Independent contractor arrangement.
