Software Engineer II / SRE

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a Software Engineer II / SRE to join an agile team that builds, enhances, and delivers secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will work on multiple components of a technical product, gaining hands‑on experience while contributing to the firm’s cutting‑edge solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, design, and troubleshoot standard software solutions with limited guidance.
• Write secure, high‑quality code in at least one modern programming language.
• Consider upstream and downstream system impacts when designing and coding.
• Leverage SDLC tools to automate and improve development value.
• Apply technical troubleshooting to resolve basic‑complexity issues.
• Analyze large data sets to identify problems and support decision‑making for stable application development.
• Continuously learn system processes, methodologies, and security best practices.

Required profile

• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
• Demonstrated ability to code in one or more languages.
• Full‑cycle Software Development Life Cycle experience.
• Exposure to agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Emerging knowledge of cloud, AI/ML, mobile or related technical disciplines.
