Senior Systems Engineer (Service Provisioning)

About the role

Join the Service Provisioning team at Nu to build the internal platform that manages the lifecycle of more than 3,000 microservices. You will help modernize the core infrastructure, moving away from legacy tools toward a resilient, scalable environment that empowers engineers to deploy and manage services effortlessly.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an infrastructure control plane that abstracts away fixed topology, enabling resource provisioning and application deployment across regions and accounts.
• Develop safe, automated mechanisms for large‑scale infrastructure changes, addressing systemic issues such as circular dependencies and high‑friction manual steps.
• Create a streamlined application configuration and manifest generation process that integrates directly into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the platform supports Nu’s rapid scaling targets and improves developer experience.
• Maintain and evolve the platform to guarantee stability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Infrastructure‑first mindset with deep experience in cloud providers (AWS preferred) and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Strong software development background, proficient in Java, Python, or Golang, and familiar with distributed systems concepts such as queues and concurrency.
• High agency and comfort working in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments, making autonomous decisions.
• Passion for high‑scale platforms and the challenges of large‑scale distributed systems.
• Effective communicator able to work across multiple teams.
