Senior React Native Developer (Expo & TypeScript) – Remote LATAM

About the role

We are seeking a senior mobile engineer to join a fully‑remote LATAM team building the core iOS and Android applications for a leading SaaS platform in the short‑term‑rental industry. The role focuses on React Native development using Expo and TypeScript, with ownership of releases, performance optimisation and native issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality, responsive mobile experiences with React Native, Expo and TypeScript.
• Own App Store and Google Play releases, including staged rollouts and OTA updates via EAS Build and EAS Update.
• Lead Expo SDK and React Native upgrades, troubleshoot native crashes and performance bottlenecks.
• Integrate native modules and config plugins for camera, location, push notifications, biometrics and audio/video.
• Write and maintain automated unit and end‑to‑end tests using Jest, React Native Testing Library or Maestro.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and define mobile engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional React Native development experience.
• Strong spoken and written English; ability to collaborate in a distributed international environment.
• Proven track record of publishing and maintaining apps on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Experience owning product features over time and delivering stable releases.

Required skills

• React Native, Expo, TypeScript, JavaScript.
• EAS Build, EAS Update, OTA update workflows.
• Native iOS/Android debugging, crash analysis and performance optimisation.
• REST API integration, data fetching with React Query or SWR.
• State management (Redux, Context or similar).
• Automated testing (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Maestro).
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Optional: Reanimated, Gesture Handler, NativeWind, WebRTC, Sentry, offline‑first patterns.
