Senior QA Automation Engineer – Backend/API

About the role

Qu is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own the quality of its backend services and APIs. You will design, implement and maintain automated test suites that ensure reliability, performance, and data integrity for critical restaurant‑chain software.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain automated API and service‑level tests using Karate and Postman.
• Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to define test strategies for new features.
• Develop regression and smoke test suites to validate service health.
• Perform manual exploratory testing for complex backend workflows.
• Execute performance validations with JMeter, k6 or similar tools.
• Validate data integrity, analyze logs and service metrics, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Run tests in Dockerized or local environments and help configure test environments.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software quality assurance experience, focused on backend systems and APIs.
• Proven experience writing tests in Karate and Postman, including scripting and assertions.
• Strong understanding of RESTful services, authentication flows, status codes and payload validation.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and containerised test setups.
• Solid manual QA and exploratory testing background.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using JIRA, GitHub and CI/CD tools.
