Senior Medical Director

About the role

The Senior Medical Director will provide medical, clinical and scientific advisory expertise across IQVIA divisions, focusing on oncology and hematology clinical studies. The role combines medical monitoring duties with strategic input to support project delivery and business development.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Global Medical Advisor on oncology/hematology trials, guiding project leaders on medical and scientific aspects.
• Review protocols, Investigational Drug Brochures, case report forms and provide therapeutic area training.
• Support investigative sites with protocol clarifications, eligibility determinations and patient safety issues.
• Perform medical review of adverse events, serious adverse events and clinical study reports.
• Develop medically sound delivery strategies for multi‑regional studies and contribute to client proposals, including budgeting for medical monitoring.
• Participate in business development presentations and maintain awareness of industry developments.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, PhD) with extensive experience in oncology and/or hematology clinical research.
• Proven track record of medical monitoring and scientific advisory roles on complex clinical trials.
• Ability to work 24/7 on urgent protocol‑related issues and collaborate with pharmacovigilance teams.
• Strong communication skills for training, investigator meetings and client presentations.
