Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Siemens NX)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Siemens NX CAD to lead the modernization of critical rail products across North America. You will drive the migration of legacy components, create high‑quality models and documentation, and mentor the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead migration and redesign of legacy mechanical components and assemblies from SolidWorks to Siemens NX.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Act as a technical reference and mentor for NX CAD best practices.
• Manage product data, BOMs, and documentation through Teamcenter PLM and SAP.
• Support product improvements, engineering changes, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to implement new designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Siemens NX CAD.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM.
• Familiarity with SAP for product data management.
