Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience designing, building, and evolving scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems. The role involves hands‑on development, architectural decisions and improving platform quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve scalable backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript and Express.js.
• Own technical solutions end‑to‑end, from design through deployment, observability and production support.
• Contribute to backend architecture, address technical debt and apply solid software design principles.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas, queries and transactional workflows.
• Build reliable financial workflows with idempotency, concurrency and failure handling.
• Work with AWS infrastructure, improve production visibility and investigate incidents.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Node.js, TypeScript and Express.js.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with API design, authentication, authorization and third‑party integrations.
• Production experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving, ownership and communication skills.
