Senior Accounting Analyst

About the role

CookUnity is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to own prepaid expense reconciliations, lease accounting, and expense analysis across software, insurance, utilities, and general operating expenses. The role is key to the monthly close, ensuring accurate records and clear variance explanations.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly close for assigned accounts, preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Maintain lease accounting under ASC 842, including schedules, entries, and right‑of‑use asset reconciliations using lease software.
• Manage prepaid expense reconciliations and amortization schedules.
• Perform variance analysis for software, insurance, utilities, rent, and operating expenses.
• Collaborate with AP, FP&A, Legal, Operations and other stakeholders to ensure accurate expense recognition.
• Prepare documentation for external audits and support process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of accounting or audit experience.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and sound accounting judgment.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and proactively communicate issues.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with LeaseQuery and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience using NetSuite.
