Senior Accountant – Vacation Rental Portfolio (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in vacation‑rental accounting to join our fully remote team. The role will focus on onboarding new clients, optimizing accounting workflows and delivering accurate financial reporting for short‑term rental businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client onboarding and set up accounting systems tailored to vacation‑rental operations.
• Customize and streamline accounting workflows for each client.
• Prepare, review and close month‑end financial statements and reconciliations.
• Work with vacation‑rental platforms such as property‑management systems, channel managers and trust‑accounting tools.
• Ensure compliance with industry‑specific accounting standards and best practices.
• Identify process improvements and implement scalable accounting solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance efficiency and client experience.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for vacation‑rental accounting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in the vacation‑rental sector.
• Direct experience with trust accounting, owner statements and property‑level reporting.
• Proven track record of onboarding new clients and configuring accounting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Experience using AppFolio or similar vacation‑rental accounting platforms.
