Senior Accountant

About the role

Cultivar is looking for a highly autonomous Senior Accountant to own the full accounting cycle for fast‑moving consumer‑product brands. The role is remote‑first, focused on technical execution and system ownership rather than people management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounting in QuickBooks Online, producing accurate monthly financial statements and maintaining balance‑sheet integrity.
• Reconcile inventory valuation reports with warehouse data and resolve integration issues across Shopify, Amazon, A2X and other IMS tools.
• Investigate and clear discrepancies in complex clearing accounts, including POS, payroll and bill‑pay feeds.
• Continuously improve month‑end close workflows, building stronger reconciliation processes and reducing manual journal entries.

Required profile

• 4–7+ years of accounting experience with audit‑ready financial statement production.
• Proven background in CPG, manufacturing, food & beverage or other inventory‑heavy environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on root‑cause problem solving rather than quick fixes.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in QuickBooks Online, including advanced bank feed and clearing‑account logic.
• Hands‑on experience reconciling Shopify sales and using tools such as A2X, Cin7 or similar inventory management systems.
• Deep understanding of inventory valuation, COGS analysis and the impact of physical movements on P&L and balance sheet.
