Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a proactive Senior Accountant to support its growing portfolio of hospitality clients. You will own month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls across multiple properties.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close, preparing P&L and Balance Sheet in compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliation as client volume increases.
• Manage journal entries, financial reporting, and reconciliations for multiple properties or client accounts.
• Integrate and operate hospitality and accounting platforms to process daily financial data.
• Identify workflow improvements, strengthen internal controls, and deliver clear service to client stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, and full‑cycle reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality‑specific systems (e.g., Opera, Sertifi, Toast) is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate, and ProfitSword is a major plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
