Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a versatile, highly accountable Senior Accountant to support its fast‑growing portfolio of hospitality clients. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, timely month‑end closes, and strong internal controls across multiple properties.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing P&L and Balance Sheet statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliation and manage increasing volume as new clients are onboarded.
• Handle journal entries, financial reporting, and reconciliations for multiple properties or client accounts.
• Utilize hospitality and accounting platforms to process daily financial data and optimize workflows.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows, internal controls, and client service delivery.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, journal entries, and full‑cycle account reconciliations.
• Experience with hospitality‑specific systems (e.g., Opera, Sertifi, Toast) is highly desired.
• Familiarity with Acumatica, Ottimate, and ProfitSword is a major plus.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
