Research Scientist / Research Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Research Scientist / Research Engineer to drive frontier AI innovation with a focus on efficiency, gradient‑free exploration, real‑time learning and interface design. The role sits at the intersection of product, algorithms and hardware, ensuring that research ideas translate into measurable real‑world impact.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design algorithms that react in real time to product signals and user feedback.
• Invent new feedback mechanisms that improve model performance.
• Collaborate across software, hardware and algorithmic teams to achieve system‑wide efficiency gains.
• Define and track metrics that reflect real‑world impact of AI systems.
• Steer synthetic data generation toward desirable properties to expand coverage in low‑data regimes.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent research experience in computer science or a related field.
• 4‑5+ years of industry experience in AI/ML research or engineering.
• Deep expertise in at least one of: model efficiency, real‑time alignment, algorithmic optimization.
• Systems‑thinking ability to optimise across the full machine‑learning stack.
• Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to experiment with bold ideas.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of model optimisation techniques including RLHF and finetuning.
• Experience scaling AI workloads in an industry lab environment.
