Remote Staff Accountant – US GAAP Experience

About the role

Wise Choice Remodeling is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to support the day‑to‑day accounting operations of its U.S.-based construction platform. This fully remote position works on U.S. business hours and offers the chance to apply accounting fundamentals in a dynamic remodeling environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and perform monthly bank, credit‑card and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, and support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Process vendor invoices, manage AP approvals, and handle customer invoicing, collections, and AR reconciliations.
• Track project/job costs, support contract billing, retainage, and prepare Work‑in‑Progress schedules.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, assist with audit preparation, and support sales‑tax and regulatory filings.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities, help maintain ERP/accounting software, and contribute to special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with U.S. companies or U.S. GAAP.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with reliable high‑speed internet.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
