Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (Nurse 2) to join the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg. The role provides professional nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia, supporting complex and unpredictable health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver independent nursing services and administer prescribed medical treatments to PACU patients.
• Lead and coordinate with the multidisciplinary health‑care team to ensure safe patient discharge.
• Provide standby coverage, on‑call support, and work flexible shifts including days, evenings and weekends.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold the standards of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Minimum two years recent experience in PACU, critical care, acute surgical or resuscitation‑level emergency nursing.
• Satisfactory employment record.
• Valid CNA certification (or equivalent) for the program area.

Required skills

• Cardiac monitoring training (or willingness to obtain within three months).
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or agreement to obtain).
