About the role

DEPT® is seeking a Principal Art Director to lead high‑impact visual creative for top‑tier, fast‑moving clients. This hands‑on position blends strategic thinking with strong visual design and video‑first expertise, shaping digital, social, and video experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Concept and design best‑in‑class digital creative across social and video, focusing on visual storytelling and performance.
• Support pre‑production planning, on‑set shoots, and post‑production collaboration with editors and designers.
• Partner with copywriters, strategists, producers, and client teams to align creative with brief goals and brand voice.
• Own end‑to‑end creative execution, delegating to junior team members while remaining accountable for final output.
• Navigate ambiguity, adapt to shifting priorities, and provide proactive solutions through brainstorming and inspiration sharing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of visual design experience with a strong portfolio of digital campaigns, social‑first content, and video‑driven work.
• Prior experience in a social agency or similar environment handling high‑volume, high‑visibility accounts.
• On‑set and content production experience, collaborating with video directors, editors, and producers.
• Excellent client presentation and communication skills.
• Strategic eye for layout, typography, motion, branding, and deep knowledge of social best practices.
