Nurse 2 – Urgent Care

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide professional nursing care in the Urgent Care unit of Concordia Hospital, supporting patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Working under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the RN will deliver independent nursing services, administer prescribed treatments, and lead the care coordination and discharge process.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and deliver direct patient care.
• Administer medications and prescribed medical treatments safely.
• Lead and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Coordinate patient care plans and facilitate timely discharge.
• Participate in emergency nursing orientation and ongoing training.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current registration as a RN in Manitoba.
• Recent related experience; current emergency nursing experience preferred.
• Satisfactory employment record.
• Ability to work days, nights, and weekends on a 0.60 FTE schedule.

Required skills

• Successful completion of WRHA Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) Level 1 within two months of hire.
