MEP Mechanical Designer / Engineer (Part-Time)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer / Engineer with solid experience in MEP design for commercial, workplace, and retail building projects. The role is part‑time and ideal for a self‑motivated professional who can work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate with multidisciplinary remote teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support mechanical design documentation for MEP projects.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Read, interpret, and implement mechanical design requirements and project documentation.
• Support HVAC and mechanical system design in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, architects, owners, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Attend remote coordination meetings and contribute to design discussions.
• Manage assigned tasks, deadlines, and deliverables with limited supervision.
• Review project requirements to ensure design consistency, accuracy, and code compliance.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Engineer in an engineering consulting environment.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
• Familiarity with mechanical engineering design and MEP systems.
• Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including IMC, IECC, and ASHRAE 90.1.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.
• Comfortable working remotely and participating in coordination meetings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of IMC (International Mechanical Code).
• Knowledge of IECC (International Energy Conservation Code).
• Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1 standards.
